Invited lecture: 35 min. + 5 min. discussion.
Contributed lecture: 20 min. + 5 min. discussion.
Poster size: horizontal 90 x vertical 120 cm.

Refereed Book of Extended Abstracts and Contributions

We invite authors to submit their contributions to our upcoming proceedings. All submissions will undergo a peer-review process. We accept two types of submissions: Contributions and Extended Abstracts.

Important: Authors must clearly specify whether their submission is an Extended Abstract or a Contributions (see instructions below).

Submission Types & Page Limits

• Contributions (Complete research presentations)
  • Regular Participants & Invited Speakers: The total length must not exceed 8 pages (A4).
• Extended Abstracts (Short summaries of ongoing research)
  • Regular Participants: The total length must not exceed 4 pages (A4).
  • Invited Speakers: The total length must not exceed 6 pages (A4).

Required Structure & Identification

Every submission must contain the following parts in this order:

1. Submission Type Indicator: Clearly state “Contributions“ or “Extended Abstract” at the very top of the first page.
2. Title
3. Author(s)
4. Affiliation(s)
5. E-mail address of the contact person
6. Main text (may include figures and References)

Formatting Guidelines

• Font: Recommended font is Times New Roman.
• Font Sizes: 14 pt. for the main title; 12 pt. for subtitles and the main body text.
• Layout: Single-column layout with single (1.0) line spacing.
• Restrictions: Please do not use hyperlinks or macros anywhere in the text.

File Guidelines & Submission

For final book assembling, all files must be submitted in an editable format.

• Accepted formats: .docx, .doc, or .odt
• File Naming: Please name your file in the following format:
  • [Type]_[LastName]_ShortTitle (e.g., Contributions_Smith_QuantumResearch.docx or ExtendedAbstract_Smith_QuantumResearch.docx).

When uploading your contribution through our system, please ensure you select the correct submission track (“Contributions“ or “Extended Abstract”).

Publication Options

All accepted and peer-reviewed contributions will be published based on the format chosen by the authors. Please note the following two options:

• Option 1: Extended Abstract in the Proceedings
  The Extended Abstract will be published in the peer-reviewed Conference Proceedings with an assigned ISBN. Following the conference, authors are highly encouraged to submit their expanded, Full Paper to the Special Issue of the journal Surface and Interface Analysis.
• Option 2: Contributions in the Proceedings
  The Full Paper (up to 8 pages) will be published directly in the peer-reviewed Conference Proceedings with an assigned ISBN. Please note that contributions published as Full Papers in the proceedings cannot be submitted to the Special Issue of the journal.
